The Sunday Times Brookton Old Time Motor
Show
NEXT SHOW March 2010
Congratulations to the committee and the
town of Brookton.
On March 29 2008 the town hosted another fantastic Old Time Motor Show. We had everything Veteran, Vintage or even just old imaginable. Cars ,Trucks ,Bikes ,Military ,Stationary engines ,Steam and especially the feature of the show ,The magnificent Model T Ford celebrating 100 years of production. We had the two Roadwise Grand Parades so we could all see how these vehicles of their own days used to operate, rattle and smell. The Western Australian Detachment of Royal Australian Navy Band played as the Parades headed off. The shearing and blade shearing displays were a hit with the crowd as was the Brookton local Fire Brigade mock vehicle rescue . The local school children skipping " Jump Rope for Heart " display was a treat for the large crowd that congregated. The Aerobatic display was amazing . There was chaff cutting, boot scooting, family interest stalls and too much other action to mention now. This all finished off in the night with The Magnificent Seven Country and Old Time Band. What a treat to a record crowd all leaving with fantastic feed back on their weekend of camping and family relaxing. Being an even year bi-annual event we have a long wait for the next show, however already the committee has come up with great ideas to make the show bigger and better in March 2010. For updates please keep an eye on this web site after July 2009. For now have a look at the photo's from the motor show years gone by. The 2008 photo's will be on the photo gallery very soon. Well done and thank you to all the volunteers that make the best Old Time Show happen.
